What a way to start things off
Ok so we were thinking about the best way to dive in to our ‘Style’ category. Then i came across this fine piece of machinery below and the question was answered for me. This is the new model for the Tag Monaco Range and is still in concept. Tag are releasing this in time for their 150th anniversary and i cannot think of a better way to celebrate with consumate style. The new model features belt driven transmission, a new linear mass, a platinum case and beveled crystal sapphire. This is all courtesy of the master watchmaker behind this, a certain Denis Badin
In 1969, TAG Heuer broke with tradition by creating the first square-cased, water-resistant watch in the history of watchmaking. Powered by the famous Chronomatic Calibre 11, the Monaco is also the world’s first automatic chronograph. A year later, Steve McQueen chose to wear it in the 1970 car-racing classic film, Le Mans: on his wrist, it became an icon.
The Monaco continues to represent the spirit of TAG Heuer. The blue chronograph version seduces by its 60-second counter at 3 o’clock and 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock, red-orange hands, and blue alligator strap. An authentic and original style that for decades has confered an undeniable and timeless motor racing spirit.
The new watch price is $TBA and with the current models retailing for anywhere between £1500 and £5000 new we are sure it ain’t gonna be cheap.
You cant get a toned down, no Tag tag (if you get me) alternative such as this beautiful Hugo Boss however if you want the real deal, as with most things in life…it ain’t gonna be easy, it ain’t gonna be cheap and you are going to have to make some sacrifices.
